The primary department of Australis Christian College offers students high quality learning opportunities, in a well established and caring environment. Students are regarded as unique individuals and their God-given abilities and talents are nurtured to enable each individual to reach their potential. Relationship building is seen as paramount, enhancing learning as well as facilitating a warm Christian community within which the primary school functions and thrives. The dedicated and innovative Christian professionals who make up the primary school staff team are committed to delivering a God Centered Educational Program which integrates the character and nature of God with the academic studies. This explicit teaching and learning program: • Develops Christian character and values in the students that are    consistent with biblical teachings. • Provides a safe, secure and loving environment which is conducive to    individual and collective needs. • Raises a standard of excellence that glorifies God. • Inspires and motivates all students to work towards achieving their   potential. • Supports the learning of students with learning difficulties and ESL     students. • Promotes literacy and numeracy skills building a strong foundation for    future studies in secondary school. • Develops creative thinking and creativity in the arts – music, drama,    dance and art and craft. • Promotes a healthy active lifestyle through a physical education program    which includes swimming, gymnastics and interschool sports. • Supports the learning that takes place in the classroom by incursions,    excursions and camps. • Encourages student participation in chapels • Instills a sense of responsibility in students towards others and being   better stewards of God’s creation • Facilitates a strong partnership with the college, parents and local    churches in developing and preparing our students to realize God’s plan    for their lives
